Most of the current city Assembly is not listening to the people and disregarding their votes for there own agenda. No new city hall voted down twice by the residents of juneau, yet the still are trying to get a new city hall . they have had to close schools and they should move into one of the unused schools for the new city hall. There would be more parking unlike they're office down town. there was also a resounding vote on no tax on food and fuel and hold the mill rate a 9.5 %. the assembly voted to change once again what the people wanted by supposing a summer tax which they sy is for the recreation but it can only go to the general fund and be used how they want. the city assemble spends too mush of the taxpayers money on studies and projects they can't complete . telephone hill , new city hall eagle crest gondolas. these are not essential services thheynare large scale investments. many residents have consistently voiced opposition or skepticism towards the projects. the core difference between the city and the residents is not listening or ignoring was was voted on by the residents. as your assembly member I will listen the needs of the people and do my best to institute the policy that they vote for . I also will work on making the assembly more transparent on what they plan to do as well as have and open check book policy that shows where all the money that is spent goes. there is enough money if the city would focus on the core issues of Fire,police,road maintenance snow removal, education and the recreation facilities Pool,Ice rink, field House ,ball parks,socker fields,. let the builders and nonprofits take care of the wants. its time for the assembly to listen to the people and act accordingly
we need to open land for single family housing development by private contractors. this will bring in more revenue and proving availably housing for all in juneau. remember the Coast Guard I ce breakers are coming we need housing for them. the summer tourist transients, the Legilature in the winter, Pursue more mining and fishing. we need to diversify our review we can just depend on tourism
transparency in government. Listen to the people and respond how they have voted. Having an open finance report the all citizens can look at where all the money is spent and what funds are set aside for projects.
